STEM at Upland is composed of the subjects: Science, Computing and DT. The three subjects are taught independently and cover the curriculum objectives.
With the introduction of STEM days and an afterschool club, we aim to inspire our children to learn more about these subjects and apply their own STEM skills within the real world.
Through real-life challenges and problem solving situations, children are encouraged to think in a practical manner which are applicable to everyday skills.
Our vision is to provide a rich and varied STEM curriculum for our all of our pupils.
Our mission is to:
- Inspire our children to be great STEM learners.
- Employ Kagan structures and STEM skills to enable them to tackle real life challenges.
- Ensure our children have fun with STEM activities and embed the school’s Personal Attributes in their learning of the subjects.
- Integrate the subjects of Science, Computing and DT/Engineering to develop STEM within the school.
