Our Curriculum

Our Curriculum

Our aim is to develop effective communicators with strong emotional literacy and independence skills. We support children to become confident, curious learners who explore their environment with enthusiasm, growing as ‘Little Explorers’. Our curriculum is designed to reflect the individual needs, interests, and backgrounds of every child, building strong foundations for lifelong learning.

We implement our curriculum through high-quality adult–child interactions using the ShREC approach, alongside carefully planned, meaningful play opportunities and well-structured continuous provision both indoors and outdoors. Our learning is organised around three key concepts: Identity and Belonging, Change and the Environment, and Exploration. These are brought to life through engaging focus texts, nursery rhymes, and traditional tales, allowing children to connect ideas, build vocabulary, and develop a love of stories. Children benefit from a balance of child-led exploration and adult-directed experiences, including circle times and small group activities, ensuring that learning is engaging, purposeful, and tailored to each individual.

As a result, children develop into confident, independent learners who communicate effectively in their own unique ways and demonstrate strong emotional literacy. They show curiosity, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning, making good progress from their starting points and becoming enthusiastic ‘Little Explorers’, ready for the next stage of their educational journey. This impact is assessed through high-quality interactions, ongoing observations, and the progress check at age two.
